Florida-bred champion sprinter C Z Rocket has traveled to Meydan Race Course in Dubai where the 9-year-old millionaire will try to become the fourth Sunshine State native to win the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored by Nakheel Saturday.

A full field of 14 northern and southern hemisphere 3-year-olds and older are set for the Golden Shaheen, a six furlong test with a purse of US$2 million that is on the undercard for the $12 million Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airlines (G1).

There is likely to be one very familiar face in the starting gate for this year’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint, the 8-year-old C Z Rocket, who is on a path to compete in the race for a third consecutive year.

Trainer Peter Miller said Wednesday that although he plans to cross-enter C Z Rocket in both the Sprint and Dirt Mile, the former is where he’s leaning following the veteran’s frustrating nose setback to Howbeit in the six-furlong, Grade 2 Santa Anita Sprint Championship on Oct. 1.

When it comes to describing young Thoroughbreds who flash potential in the sales ring or on the track, the expression "She (or He) could be any kind," is often heard.

Then there is 8-year-old sprinter C Z Rocket. He has been all kinds.

C Z Rocket will look to add another chapter this year with a start in the Pat O'Brien Stakes (G2) Aug. 27 at Del Mar being a key test to determine if a third straight Breeders' Cup start is in the cards. "He's doing great," said trainer Peter Miller. "Honestly, I wish we hadn't drawn the rail (in the Pat O'Brien) but it's always fun when you can work with these horses that keep coming back year after year.

He's 8-years-old but he doesn't know that. He still thinks he's young."
